Cover My Adventure’s Methodology
We follow a detailed review process which begins with a long list of available policies from major insurers and niche providers alike.
From there, we first focus on whether a policy meets the unique requirements of a cycle tourer including providing personal liability cover. We drill down into key components such as medical and repatriation cover, cancellation and baggage. Next, we check coverage across trip durations and regions.
Cycle touring travel insurance and bicycle insurance are two distinct policies and our focus is on cycle touring travel insurance. (Cycling travel insurance is travel insurance which covers you for medical expenses plus personal liability and cancellation cover. Bicycle insurance provides cover for theft or damage to your bicycle). However, we look to see whether the travel insurance policy offers cover for activity equipment such as your bicycle.
We know that price matters to our readers. While we don’t yet offer live quotes, we include indicative prices based on a sample traveller profile across a range of trips.
